Our Approach
With the brief coming to us at the end of the summer term, and a need for the classrooms to be fully occupied at the start of the new school year in September, our ability to work at speed was crucial to the success of the project.
We designed, manufactured, and built the single-storey six classroom block within the specified timeframe – including all enabling works – over the summer period.
This was a multi-classroom block, with each of the classrooms between 56 m sq and 59 m sq, and was designed to be accessible, with disabled access doors and accessible WC as well as male and female toilet facilities, and a work room. All elements were manufactured in our factory before being finished on-site at Denton Community College.
With a need for the finished building to fit aesthetically with the neighbouring sports hall, we completed the block with a light blue cladding to the exterior.
The Results
Using our off-site construction methods, we were able to rise to the challenge presented by the tight timeframe of just eight weeks to ensure that the school had the extra space it needed to accommodate increased pupil numbers at the start of the new term.
