Alder Community High School
Project Brief
When a previous supplier could not fulfil the specified new classroom order in time for the new school term, we stepped in to provide a turnkey solution for Alder Community High School.

Client
Alder Community High School
Sector
Education
Location
Hyde, Greater Manchester
Our Approach
We worked with the school and project managers to finalise the design, which called for a four classroom building with a central corridor and – crucially – plenty of natural light to create an optimal learning environment. Our final design incorporated large windows in each classroom and rooflights in the corridor to maximise daylight.
In such a short timeframe, communication was key, and we ensured we kept the school and partners at Prosiect Consult fully informed as the 3,620 sq ft building was being built in our factory.
Installation presented its own challenges, with the structure to be located at the rear of the school; we built a temporary roadway across a culvert to provide the necessary access for site vehicles, lorries, and cranes.
The Results
The finished building provides four classrooms, plus storage and common areas, allowing the school to accommodate additional pupil numbers. Our ability to deliver the classroom within a three month timeframe is why Prosiect Consult singled out our ‘professional and proactive’ service throughout.
