Our Approach
The hospital required a storage area to service the theatre – and as the existing building occupies a hillside plot, traditional construction was out of the question.
In order to build the storage space close to the first-floor theatre, modular construction was the only cost-effective solution. We created a modular healthcare building in our specialist factory, which we craned into place atop steel stilts within Fitzwilliam Hospital enclosed quadrangle.
The Results
Our off-site pre-fabricated solution created a healthcare unit which provided much-needed storage in a tricky space, with bespoke exterior timber cladding helping ensure that the modular building matches the character of the hospital’s new side entrance.
