Project Brief

For the church community at Holy Trinity Church, Hurdsfield, the need for a new community hub was driven by a growing programme of outreach activities and local engagement. Set within the grounds of a nearly 200-year-old Church of England site, the project required a sensitive, well-considered solution that respected the historic surroundings while providing a modern, functional space for community use.

Elite Systems GB was appointed via a contractor to deliver a single-storey modular community centre that could be installed quickly, with minimal disruption and without the need for full concrete foundations. The result is a vibrant, welcoming hub that supports a wide range of activities and strengthens the church’s role within the local community.

Our Approach

Working within the constraints of a historic and sensitive site, Elite Systems adopted a modular construction approach to ensure efficiency, flexibility, and minimal impact on the church grounds.

Key considerations included:

  • Historic setting
The building design and installation method were carefully selected to complement the existing stone church and surrounding landscape.
  • Site constraints
Modular construction removed the need for a full concrete foundation, making it ideal for the restricted conditions of the site.
  • Rapid installation
Modules were craned into position and installed in less than a day, with final works completed just weeks later.

Collaboration between all parties ensured the project met both functional requirements and aesthetic expectations.
