Over time, classrooms can become dated and run down through the sheer amount of time that has been spent using them. Our long-standing client Essex County Council approached us to create a brand-new modular classroom facility to upgrade an older classroom for the local authority at Blackmore Primary School.
With the previous building being demolished, we were tasked with creating a new 86 square metre single storey building to take the place of the previous one that had been located on the same site.
This was a very exciting project to take on: Blackmore Primary School tasked us with creating a modular building that included a range of rooms and facilities. This project required a classroom to allow teachers and students to connect and learn, a lobby area with adequate space designed with foot traffic in mind, WCs including an accessible toilet so that everyone within the building had easy access to facilities and enough storage space to prevent the need of having to keep items in a separate space.
To help the school become more sustainable, we fitted solar PV panels on the roof of the building allowing Blackmore to generate its own electricity and be ‘zet zero’ in operation throughout the year.
